Case Report | | |
A 38-year-old female patient, Indonesian by nationality and a dancer by profession, underwent an operation for a clinically diagnosed ovarian dermoid cyst. During grossing, we were surprised to observe 105 whitish balls ranging in size from 1 to 1.5 cm in diameter and a ball of hair [Figure 1]. Each of these whitish balls was covered with an egg shell-like material with calcification and crackling. The content was grumous material. A histological examination of the cyst wall revealed a classical mature squamous epithelium with adnexal structures. It was not possible to conclude how such morphological forms resulted in a dermoid cyst.
